Yesterday was one of those days when, no matter how hard I tried, all I could think of was the pain, the failure, the disappointment and the loss. Indeed, like a Chinese finger trap, the harder I tried to wriggle free of these thoughts, the tighter I became enmeshed in them.
I must be very, very evil to be punished so horrendously, and with such adamantine persistence.
